BSR is hiring interns for the summer of 2025 to support BSR's specialty programs (examples below) to assist that unit in tasks such as underwriting analysis, endorsement processing, data collection / management, and policy issuance. Throughout the summer, interns will be given exposure to all BSR programs providing a robust view of this unique sector of the insurance industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education And/Or Experience
The base salary range for this position is $18.00 – $25.00. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Review applications and perform initial underwriting for cannabis accounts
- Identifying and gathering relevant account information for new business and renewal policy activity ? Participate with Underwriters in the renewal and new business activities that support marketing and underwriting decisions that are consistent with growth and retention goals
- Process endorsements, policy changes, and account renewals
- Assess clients’ current insurance placements for strengths and deficiencies
- Work directly with specialized insurance brokers to develop business relationships
- Scheduling inspections and monitoring for compliance with recommendations
- Manage account documentation
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and able to work effectively in an early stage, high growth environment
- Strong math and analytical skills with an emphasis on problem-solving
- Willingness to learn quickly in a constantly evolving environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office & Excel
Education And/Or Experience
- Junior or Senior pursuing Bachelor's Degree (Risk Management & Insurance degree preferred
