What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operational Director position at nGROUP?
Overview
The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate with local site leadership teams to ensure they meet and/or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This position will also partner directly with the client to manage the business and exceed all established KPIs.
This includes managing an entire site with 1-2 direct salaried leader reports, as well as collaborating with cross-functional areas such as Risk Management, Safety, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), IT, and Human Resources (HR) to ensure organizational effectiveness. Additionally, this role requires balancing administrative duties with a strong presence on the warehouse floor, adapting to shifts/quick changes in the work environment, and taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
Some key responsibilities include overseeing the rollout of daily operating plans at local site level, ensuring all technical and operational equipment is in working order, and addressing deficiencies with cross-function support/operations teams. The successful candidate must be able to hold local leadership teams accountable for providing a safe working environment while focusing heavily on quality.
This role also involves working closely with nGroup's senior leadership team, consulting with the Executive leadership team to ensure operating methodologies align with the company's core values, culture, and mission, and driving large-scale needs analysis upon hire. The successful candidate must be able to strategize with the local senior leadership team on process improvements if needed, develop, foster, and support the development of the local leadership team's reporting.
Key skills required for this role include adaptability, strategic thinking, and effective communication, as well as the ability to drive results through data-driven decision making. A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred. Previous experience managing multiple salaried leaders is also desirable.
