NHK Seating of America, Inc. is owned by NHK Spring of Japan. The Frankfort plant supports an Automotive company in Lafayette. We supply the seats in a fast-paced, Just-In-Time environment. A finished seat can come off our line about every minute. The work is very repetitive and physically demanding. Our production requirements are directly linked to our customer, as customer demand increases and decreases on a daily basis so does NHK Seat production requirements.
Automotive Supplier in Frankfort, Indiana seeking qualified individual for an entry level Engineering Administrator/CAD Operator. Main job responsibilities of this position include: The ability to understand and utilize blueprints and reference materials. Operation of computer-aided design (CAD) system to create or modify part designs and drawings as well as update reference documents. Communicate with suppliers and internal departments regarding design and manufacturability as well as support investigations into internal or customer complaints. And develop and validate countermeasures for design improvements. The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational and communications skills as well as the ability to analyze and process information. CAD experience (CATIA V5 2D/3D or Solidworks) preferred. Pay Wage: $23.71
Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday plus some mandatory Saturdays
8:00am -4:30 pm
- Must have flexible schedule. Daily overtime may be required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Support Trim Development activity.
- Support IMDS activity.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Make changes to part designs and drawings using 2D and 3D CAD (CATIA).
- Ability to utilize engineering reference materials and information.
- Creation of engineering related documents (E-RFQ’s, GER’s, and ECN’s)
- Process ECN’s, ECS’ and order supplies.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers and other departments to clear up questions on design and drawing issues.
- Support internal and customer part design and quality investigations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Good understanding of seat manufacturing process, standards, and systems.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to travel as needed (25%)
- High School Diploma or GED Required, Degree Preferred.
