What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Development Fellow in Emergency Medicine position at NHS Scotland?

If you are tired of inflexible rotas, fixed annual leave and roles that provide little work/life balance then an Emergency Medicine CDF post in Ayrshire may be just the opportunity you are looking for.
The appointment will be whole time for the duration of 12 months commencing 6 August 2025 with time spent in both Ayr and Crosshouse Emergency departments. With respect to the clinical hours to be delivered, these posts will be unique in the West of Scotland as successful candidates will have access to an online and mobile phone app which will enable them to manage their own shift pattern. Healthrota software will allow individuals to self-roster their clinical time, choose leave and facilitate easy exchange of shifts therefore providing the opportunity for a much greater work/life balance. Annual leave is not fixed to certain weeks of a rota pattern.
Both University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr have received Good Practice Recognition from the 2023 NHS Education for Scotland Deanery Quality Review Panel. In recent years the time spent with us has allowed many our fellows to go on and successfully gain entry to training programs in various different specialities.
Successful applicants will be assigned a Consultant/Specialty Doctor as clinical supervisor. There will be numerous opportunities to undertake teaching and Quality improvement activities in an environment that supports and fosters innovation. 5 teaching/Sim days per year are delivered and have received excellent feedback. A study budget of £1250 is available towards completion of courses and attendance at study days.
A 50% pay supplement will be paid to recognise contribution to out of hours working and emergency duty commitments, and will be based on a salary range 45,504 - £71,550
The posts are not recognised for training. Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
