What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Bank position at NHS Tayside?

This is an opportunity for a highly experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Diagnostics Laboratories team as Bank Specialist Biomedical Scientist, working within accredited Medical Laboratories which provided a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside, North-East Fife, South Grampian and specialist diagnostics and clinical services across all NHS Scotland Health Boards.
The Diagnostics Laboratories are based in Ninewells Hospital, a large Teaching hospital and Medical School in Dundee, and a multidisciplinary laboratory at Perth Royal Infirmary (PRI). The department is a UKAS accredited Medical Laboratory and holds IBMS Training and NES training approval. The laboratories at Ninewells and Perth both operate a 24/7 service every day of the year.
We are looking for a member of bank staff that has the enthusiasm to develop further and train others. You will be working in a multidisciplinary laboratory with Siemens ADVIA 2120i FBC analysers, ACL TOPS Coagulation analysers, Siemens Atellica Solution and Bio-Rad Blood Transfusion analysers.
Post qualification professional development is encouraged and supported. The post will be based at the PRI site; core working hours will be between 09:00 17:00 Monday to Friday.
You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have completed the IBMS Specialist Diploma in Haematology, Blood Transfusion or Biochemistry, or BBTS Specialist certificate or have equivalent prior experience.
Hours of work: Bank shifts as required between 09:00 17:00 Monday to Friday
