POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Systems and Support Administrator plays a crucial role in managing the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide IT solutions while providing front-line technical support for hardware provisioning and service requests. The administrator will collaborate with internal teams, international counterparts, and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Additionally, the role involves enforcing security policies, optimizing system performance, and developing IT strategies to support business continuity. With a strong focus on infrastructure management, security, and user support, the Senior Systems and Support Administrator is a key contributor to the organization’s technology stability and operational success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

Infrastructure Management & System Administration

  • Plan, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure to support business operations.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of new systems while managing the decommissioning of outdated systems.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of all installed systems and infrastructure.

Technical Support & Issue Resolution

  • Provide front-line support for provisioning hardware and addressing service requests.
  • Collaborate with international team counterparts and external vendors to ensure seamless IT operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to servers, networks, and enterprise applications.
  • Security & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce security policies and protocols to protect organizational systems and data.
  • Serve as part of the security management, alert, and triage team, responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure all deployed systems comply with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring & Performance Optimization

  • Monitor system performance and proactively address infrastructure risks.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery (COOP / DR) strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Conduct regular system audits and performance testing.
  • Collaboration & Vendor Management

  • Work closely with HR to ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding of employees, including computer provisioning, deployment, and recovery.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers to resolve complex hardware and software issues.
  • Coordinate with Lumen engineering teams and internal teams for seamless IT service delivery.
  • Training & Team Support

  • Mentor and train junior system engineers and service desk team members.
  • Develop and document best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and IT policies.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on system use and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Other job duties include, but are not limited to the following :

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

    Required Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience as a technical solutions or enterprise architect in a corporate environment.
  • At least 10 years of progressive IT industry experience, with recent experience administering a large Windows Server enterprise environment (minimum 50 servers).
  • Strong expertise in developing and implementing enterprise IT architectural solutions.
  • Proven ability to interact with internal and external customers and vendors in a professional, solutions-oriented manner.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud deployments and cloud best practices.
  • Advanced understanding of security policies, backup strategies, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Ability to mentor and train junior IT team members, fostering skill development and team growth.
  • High-level problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address infrastructure challenges effectively.
  • This is an onsite / in office role.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in project and ticketing tracking software, such as Jira.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud technologies and integration into enterprise environments.
  • Proven track record of working with multiple technical support partners and managing third-party vendors.
  • Experience supporting international user bases and remote teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and execution of IT initiatives.
