Summary:
The VAS Assembly Lead performs a number of tasks in the assembly area supporting internal and external customer requirements. Tasks include but are not limited to repetitive and moderately complex rework, product testing, block coding, and inspection processes.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Administers and operates the organization's warehouses, including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment
- Ensures execution of requested assembly and programming work within the department
- Uses verbal and written instruction for kit assembly, rework, testing, block code, and inspection of product
- Lifts, unpacks, tests, repacks, and documents results
- Lifts, unpacks, adds or removes materials, repacks, and documents results
- Reports work status to VAS Manager
- Provides support as requested VAS Manager
- Maintains cleanliness of assembly
- Helps with the packing and taping of boxes of products
- Moves material with pallet jack or on cart
- Supports safety initiatives and follows all safety guidelines
- Pays close attention to detail to ensure the processes are done correctly
- Must count parts and product accurately
- Use a computer to perform testing/flashing of products
- Use test fixtures as directed
- Print labels using any applicable program
- Understand, support and execute all work in a safe manner using the established procedures, methods and safe working requirements
- Implements and maintains department policies and standards
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be familiar in working with electronic devices
- 2 years of experience using Microsoft applications (i.e., Excel, Word, PPT, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop
- Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands
- Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, goals and objectives for self and staff (if applicable)
- Ability to effectively & professionally communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors.
- Ability to effectively train others
- Ability to effectively resolve associate issues/complaints

- Must be comfortable working in a complex production machining and assembly environment
- The working area is primarily in a manufacturing environment located around machines and heavy equipment such as a forklift or pallet operator
- Operation of the machine requires working with, and coming into contact with, various materials and substances
- Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or safety vest
- Working temperatures may vary from hot, cold, humid, wet or dry
- Working hours may be extended and weekends may be required in order to meet manufacturing needs
