What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Clerk - Plant 2 - 7:30am-4pm (M-F) position at Nichiha?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Parts Clerk will maintain the organizations inventory, receiving and supplying necessary items while maintaining accurate records of all procurements.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
1). Oversee Inventory Control
Parts Clerks will deal with every aspect of inventory control. They keep detailed records of any changes in inventory or production and report these changes to the proper department. They may do this on a regular or periodic basis. Parts Clerks may also record information about each individual item for future reference.
2). Incoming Receipts
Physically receives all ordered materials and ensures they are not damaged or unusable.
3). Maintain Inventory Records
Restocks and maintains an accurate levels of inventory.
- Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner.)
- Identifies and optimizes common inventory items.
- Provides inventory reports to the procurement manager.
- Works with other teams including the production, the maintenance, and the logistics.
- Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
- Audits the facility’s entire inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management.
- Assists with periodic physical inventory audits.
- Operates forklift truck (or other heavy equipment)
- Unload and unpack shipments of products
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verify packages according to order or packing slip (quantity, quality, price etc.) and enter receiving data on paperwork
- Record receiving data in company databases
- Return damaged products to senders
- Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Keeps a particular area for returned goods tidy and clean.
- Follows all existing company policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of math and computer Skills―Basic Excel knowledge is must.
SAFETY:
- Understand and follow all safety procedures
- Current on all safety trainings
- Wears all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat or bump cap)
- Understand and Train Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas.
- Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures
- Complete General Plant Safety Training within the first 8 weeks.
- Issues Permits for Confined Space, Hot Work and Alternative Protection Method

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift at least 30lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs.
- Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Must be able to go up and down steps and ladders multiple times a day.
- Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy.
- Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.
