Pediatric Emergency Medicine Medical Director Opportunity
At Nicklaus Children's Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Emergency Medicine Medical Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for providing medical direction and oversight to our pediatric emergency department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Medical Director for the Baptist Homestead Campus Emergency Department
- Provide professional medical services as a member of the pediatric emergency department
- Lead the management of the hospital's pediatric emergency department and work with hospital personnel to develop protocols to improve patient care and maintain performance standards
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities to improve the services provided so that patients and referring physicians have an outstanding service experience
- Responsible for timely monthly coverage schedule submissions to the Administrative Director
- Assist in the preparation of the budget and assist in preparing and annual reviews of protocols, policies, and procedures in the areas of direct clinical responsibility
- Investigate all patient and physician complaints related to the department
- Collaborate with the Medical Group and facility credentialing office, including providing timely information necessary to process credentialing materials relating to physicians for health insurers, state, and federal agencies, and other health organizations
- Assist the Medical Group in building the patient base through networking, emergency room coverage, community education, and other reasonable marketing activities in accordance with the group's policies and procedures
- Provide teaching services to the hospital's residents and fellows in accordance with the requirements of the hospital's medical education program and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited medical school
- Current state medical license and in good standing with the medical board
- American Heart Association BLS certification and maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
