What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Infant Teacher position at Nicollet Early Childhood Center?
Duties:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum for preschool children, including activities that promote cognitive, physical, and social development
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in the classroom
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive discipline techniques
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education
- Assess and monitor the progress of each child, providing individualized support as needed
- Create a supportive and inclusive environment for children with special needs, including those with autism or other developmental challenges
- Maintain accurate records of each child's progress and development
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Ability to develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate curriculum
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with children with special needs or challenging behaviors
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage classroom activities and materials
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of individual children
