Job Summary:
Nieco is seeking an experienced AP/AR Specialist to join our team! This role will be responsible for managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple financial transactions while maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, match with purchase orders, and ensure proper approvals.
- Manage payment cycles, including preparing checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Issue invoices to customers, process payments, and manage collections efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
- Reconcile AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and prepare reports as needed.
- Maintain vendor and customer records in compliance with company policies.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding payment issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or distribution industries is a plus.
