SUMMARY
The Asset Protection Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize loss and protect assets across all retail locations. This position requires strong leadership and analytical skills to design, execute, and oversee all asset protection programs, ensuring a safe environment for employees, customers, and inventory. The Asset Protection Manager will collaborate closely with other departments, including Operations, Human Resources, and Compliance, to safeguard the company’s assets and mitigate risk.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement asset protection strategies, policies, and procedures to reduce shrinkage and minimize risks.
- Lead and manage a team of asset protection professionals, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct regular audits and investigations to identify potential risks, fraud, or loss and develop corrective action plans.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local law enforcement, security vendors, and other industry professionals to enhance asset protection efforts.
- Oversee installation, monitoring, and maintenance of security systems, cameras, and alarm systems at all retail locations.
- Conduct internal and external investigations related to theft, fraud, or policy violations, ensuring adherence to legal and company standards.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for loss prevention initiatives, reporting results to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with other departments to design and implement inventory control measures and employee training programs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and legal requirements related to asset protection.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise Associates in Loss Prevention.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
- Directly supervises non-supervisory Associates.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Or one year related experience required.
- Completed or in the process of completing a college or technical school education in criminal justice/law enforcement
- Or a minimum of 3 to 6 months related work experience or training or past military security training and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
- Ability to apply mathematical skills and concepts to practical daily store operations and issues.
