Nightforce Optics is looking for a Safety Coordinator! This position is responsible for administering safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. This role must assist in ensuring regulatory compliance of safety and environmental regulations are met at the company, local, state, and federal level.
What you will be doing : Essential Job Duties
- Assist in development and advancement of the Nightforce Optics (NFO) Safety Program
- Administer safety training for both mandatory and optional topics
- Mitigate / eradicate workplace hazards and ensure safety compliance
- Organize and lead the Safety Committee and conduct internal group safety inspections of NFO facilities
- Work with Safety Manager to facilitate injured employees and liaise with Workers Compensation providers for efficient return to work planning and accommodations
- Liaise with local medical community to create a partnership for efficient occupation injury treatment
- Know and understand all safety procedures of the organization. Train less-skilled staff in safety procedures related to NFO operations
- Maintain appropriate documents, records, and reports of safety-related policies and procedures, including but not limited to : Ergonomics, PPE, BBP, HazCom / SDS, ERP, Fire Prevention, Incident Reporting, and Investigations
- Assist in the required reporting and recordkeeping of OSHA logs, incident reporting, first aid reporting, etc.
- Promote a culture of safety and act as a local safety and environmental expert providing specialized training and advice to managers, employees, and contractors
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, workplace injury investigations
- Perform root cause analysis to ensure continued success of the safety programs
- Assist in advancing and maintaining Job Hazard Analysis processes
- Organize and administer industrial monitoring
