Facilities and Maintenance Manager

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager will oversee facilities management and maintenance functions as well as lead a team of union maintenance personnel working across multiple shifts.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Union Maintenance personnel working across multiple shifts
- Work with plant production supervision to schedule maintenance and repair of plant production equipment and facilities, including 2nd and 3rd shift operation needs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for and oversee the activities of maintenance and facilities related outside contractors
- Work with production supervisors, engineers, and outside contractors to maximize plant efficiencies and machine up-time
- Maintain employee records such as attendance, training, and general performance
- Utilize various computer programs to organize, monitor and communicate maintenance department projects and objectives
- Administer company policies, procedures and negotiated contract provisions
- Oversee and maintain the departmental budget
- Lead the planning and execution of current and future maintenance and facilities related Capital Expenditures
- Facilitate the fabrication and/or installation of equipment
Qualifications
- Experience leading Union employees strongly preferred
- Associate degree in Technology, Skilled Trades Certification or related training and experience preferred
- 5-8 years of experience including:
- In-depth experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs of production equipment.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair PLC’s, robots, and various computer-based machine-monitoring systems
- ERP and/or CMMS system experience preferred
- Sound understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical operating systems
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- Strong knowledge of industrial diagnostic and problem-solving techniques including PLC ladder logic
- Proficient in standard computer software such as Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to quickly grasp and implement new ideas, concepts, and programs to improve maintenance department efficiency
- Adept and guiding and motivating teams to accomplish difficult objectives
- Availability to work daily and weekend overtime as assigned
