CHAPERONE
Position Objective
Supervision of Students participating in the Illinois V5RC HS State Championship
Reports to
Director of Engineering, Computer Science, & Business Education
Position Summary
Chaperones will be expected to stay at the event site for the duration of the event and would be
responsible for ensuring students are in their assigned locations during the event, transport
supplies as needed, help coordinate meals, if applicable, and be available to support a student
and the sponsor in case of emergency. Chaperones will be expected to travel on the bus to and
from the event site and the school.
Terms of Employment
Robotics State Overnight Event - Rich Township High School STEM Campus - Olympia Fields, IL
February 28th 3:30pm-11:00pm - March 1st 6:30am-8:00pm
Rate of Pay
Chaperones will be paid a rate of $20/hour for all hours on duty. Accommodations, meals, and
transportation will be covered, if applicable. Unless supervising students, meal periods are not
compensable. Periods when the employee is sleeping are not compensable.
Support Staff or Paraprofessional employees who have the approval of their direct supervisor to
chaperone should enter a Professional Out of District day of leave for their absence. All hours
worked outside their normal working day would need to be clocked to the Chaperone position.
