What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Mental Health Intake Coordinator position at Nimel Mental Health?
NMH is an accredited, outpatient mental health clinic located in Westminster, MD. We are currently seeking friendly, experienced clinician who can complete intake assessment of patients across the lifespan. The coordinator will formulate diagnosis and refer patient to the appropriate level of care within the organization.
The ability to perform client-centered services while relaying necessary information based upon each client’s psycho-social needs are a vital part of all positions within the company. This as well as having the ability to ensure that the client is left feeling empowered regarding his/her role in their individual treatment plan is important. We are looking for professionals who will take pride in ensuring that upon completion of a client’s services at NMH, that there will be a successful transition from agency provided client care to each clients’ ability to manage their own self-care in their day to day lives.
Job Description
- Oversee the client intake process, complete initial assessments with the client and support system, complete all related paperwork before service begins.
- Formulate a preliminary diagnosis based on the initial assessment and communicate with the assigned treatment provider.
- Creatively work with consumers to ensure the accurate & timely completion of the referral process as well as the submission of any necessary documentation to begin services at NMH.
- Successfully coordinate and communicate with various department supervisors & teams in order to address any concerns and gather supplemental information to expediate the intake process.
- Help to ensure that proper treatment/documentation is performed as scheduled.
- Attend case consults with multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure appropriate consumer care as well as consistent communication between all disciplines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies, operating procedures and new as well as on-going training guidelines for all intake coordinator staff.
- Ensure adequate documentation is entered into the EHR system in a timely manner by following and implementing regular deadlines/report running in the EHR system and communicating with executive level management regarding any potential areas of concern.
- Ensure that COMAR regulations are adhered to, and that policies and procedures are aligned with CARF accreditation needs for the Intake department at all times.
- Follow all HIPPA laws for fellow staff as well as consumers and ensure that the intake department is maintaining laws as well during all consumer contact/documentation regarding consumers of the program.
Licensure/Certification & Education Requirements:
- Independent clinical licensure (LCSW-C, LCPC, LCADC), and board-approved supervisor status preferred.
- Registered Nurse with mental health experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy/experience with EHR systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Access to reliable transportation and the possession of a valid driver's license.
