Receiving Specialists are responsible for loading and unloading shipments, as well as verifying that shipments contain correct quantities and are undamaged and put away in the correct location. To be successful as a Receiving Specialist you should be able to inspect deliveries with great attention to detail and be in good physical condition to lift and move heavy items. Ultimately, a top Receiving Specialist should be able to ensure efficient receiving processes and promptly resolve any problems or discrepancies along with their Supervisor.
Duties and responsibilities
Receive shipments
Handle all necessary paperwork upon shipment receipt
Unload material from incoming shipments
Inspect all the contents for damages and volume
Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, such as purchaser and finance
Keep records and help with inventory control
Requirements and qualifications
Certification for operating forklift will be considered as an advantage
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent physical stamina
High school diploma / GED required
Previous warehouse experience.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations
Physical dexterity
Computer skills and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs.
Basic math skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
Ability to work as a team and / or with minimal supervision.
Open to and ability to provide professional feedback
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
This position requires you to be on your feet the majority of the day. Necessary to be able to walk and lift throughout the shift.
