Job Summary
We are looking for a summer intern to join our Product team at NineDot Energy! You will work on developing strategies for deploying new technologies to expand NineDot Energy's portfolio of projects. This may include researching ISO/RTOs and utility jurisdictions across the United States, as well as new technology applications, such as indoor storage or electric vehicle charging, that can be deployed locally. You will also monitor and analyze energy market dynamics, including forecasted trends and regulatory changes affecting key jurisdictions. You will have the opportunity to work on your own individual project as well as support the Product team on their regular initiatives. The work will give you exposure to other teams at NineDot Energy and the chance to interact with technology vendors and partners outside of the organization. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to problem solve will be highly valued.

Responsibilities:
- Review and summarize complex energy policies and regulations and report out to other team members.
- Analyze distribution tariffs and ISO programs to quantify possible battery storage value stack plans.
- Monitor and analyze key ISO market technical structures (e.g., capacity, energy, and ancillary services markets).
- Research and analyze energy storage product offerings and be able to identify and communicate key technical specifications and requirements.
- Support Product team members on special projects such as RFPs or technology demonstrations.
- Interface with other NineDot teams such as Regulatory Affairs, Project Development, or Finance.
- As needed, use internal tools (eg. Excel, Tableau, R/Python) and/or subscription software (eg. HOMER, EnergyToolbase, NREL SAM) to run product and market specific cost-benefit analyses to guide investment decisions and support Project development whether it be a new technology like EV charging or a new geography of interest.

- Proficiency at the Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel and Powerpoint.
- Experience with Google Drive and shared document management.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Tableau, R/Python, AutoCad or Sketchup, GIS, and energy modeling software.
- Prior experience and interest in sustainability and clean energy, especially related to energy storage and electric vehicles.
