Nino Development is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Project Manager (commercial construction) to join our team in Knoxville, TN. The ideal candidate will assist in managing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects, from planning through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in the daily management and coordination of commercial construction projects.
- Help manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure all materials and labor are available as needed.
- Assist in conducting regular site inspections to ensure work is completed to specification and in compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, architects, and contractors.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports and project documentation.
- Handle any project-related administrative tasks, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Monitor the project’s financial performance and assist with the preparation of invoices and cost reports.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Project Manager or similar role in commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Prolog).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project challenges.
- Prior experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and clients in a commercial construction environment.
- OSHA certification or similar safety training is a plus.
