Responsibilities:Prepare customs entry information and related documentation, under the guidance/instructions of the director supervisor. Provide departmental support and lead the staff in the Brokerage department.
- Lead the Brokerage staff by providing instruction and assistance.
- Prepare correct Customs entry and relate documentation.
- Communicate with customers to secure additional/special information for correct entry preparation.
- Communicate with Customs and/or other Government Agencies on entry/release issue
- Interact with Import Department and/or Warehouse staff on entry/other Government Agencies release.
- Discuss and resolve issues of tariff classification, valuation, and admissibility. Requirements with clients, Customs, and other government agencies
- Audit, reports, and lead the staf
- Interact with other Departments within Branch on Customs, other government entry and release of cargo.
- Ensure all staff is in compliance with all company policies and training.
- With the help of the Supervisor, trains staff on general training.
- Handle other job assignments as determined by the direct supervisor.
- Must be able to demonstrate leadership skills.
- 3 years department or industry experience.
- Strong teamwork skills and inclination.
- Good communications skill – listening, providing and receiving feedback.
- Process improvement.
- Patience – ability to deal with complex processes that may involve multiple levels of approval.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate or significant or relevant or appropriate working experience. Some college desirable.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Strong computer and analytical skills – PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
