Job Title: Machine Operator

Department: Production – Millville Vial

This position is steady shift (Monday - Friday).

Shift available: 3pm -11pm (1) & 11pm - 7am (2)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: $18.36 shift differential

Reports to: Shift Supervisor / Planning/Warehouse Supervisor

Summary Description:

Responsible for the control, operation and production of vial machine. This job requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to read prints, use hand tools, and use instruments such as calipers, dial indicators, polariscope, comparator. Set up machines and maintain.

Job Duties: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Monitor the product for dimensional specifications and visual defects to make sure the vial meets specification outlined on the vial print and job sheet.

2. Interact with quality personnel and packers to communicate acceptability and trending.

3. Adjust forming burners, preforming units, and finish forming units as required to keep product within dimensional and cosmetic specifications.

4. Required cleaning and/or replacing tooling and burners as necessary.

5. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety procedures, process control manual, short correspondence, prints, job sheets, and memos.

6. Ability to write simple correspondence, record downtime information with reasons, and fill out production forms.

7. Ability to understand both metric and American units.

8. Ability to read calipers and dial indicators.

9. Requires mechanical aptitude.

10. Ensure the vial machine is operating properly and up to mechanical standards.

11. Maintain housekeeping of plant work area.

12. Promote teamwork in plant.

13. Follow all safety, health and environment rules, company rules, regulations and ISO procedures and work instructions

Requirements: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION : High school diploma or (GED) or equivalent experience.

Experience: The ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must be able to read and interpret written documents when required.

SKILLS: Average math skills are required.
