This role is essential in diagnosing conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), venous insufficiency, and other vascular disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret vascular ultrasound examinations, including Doppler studies and venous mapping.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure it is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Analyze ultrasound images and recordings to assess vascular health and identify potential issues.
- Document findings accurately in patient records and communicate results to physicians.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and vascular health practices.
- Associate's degree or higher in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized professional body (e.g., ARDMS, CCI) in vascular ultrasound.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, particularly the vascular system.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
- Proficient in operating ultrasound equipment and interpreting results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Problem-solving abilities to address patient concerns and adapt to varying situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
