Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service. As a Service Writer, you will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met while facilitating communication between customers and technicians. Your expertise in service writing, along with your ability to manage service requests efficiently, will be essential in providing exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Greet customers and assess their service needs regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Document customer concerns and accurately write service orders detailing the required work.
- Collaborate with mechanics to provide clear communication regarding repairs, parts needed, and timelines.
- Provide estimates for services including oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and shock/strut replacements.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction.
- Promote additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition, enhancing overall sales.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in auto service management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in service writing or a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively with mechanics and other team members.
- Sales experience is an asset to effectively promote additional services.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
