Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will serve as a vital link between our customers and the service department, ensuring that all automotive repair needs are accurately communicated and addressed. This role requires strong customer service skills, an understanding of automotive repair processes, and the ability to upsell services effectively.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, providing excellent customer service throughout their visit.
- Accurately document customer concerns and vehicle issues to relay to the service technicians.
- Prepare detailed estimates for repairs, including parts and labor costs, using auto estimating software.
- Communicate with customers regarding the status of their vehicles during repairs and any additional services that may be required.
- Manage service appointments and follow up with customers after service completion to ensure satisfaction.
- Upsell additional services such as shocks, struts, air brake systems, and other automotive repair needs based on customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and customer interactions in the dealership management system.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs while keeping customers informed throughout the process.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dealership environment or automotive repair setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of auto service management processes and familiarity with auto body repair is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to transmit information clearly to both customers and team members.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using computer systems for documentation and estimating services.
