Automotive Service Advisor/Service Writer
We are looking for a personable individual to act as the liaison between our customers and service technicians.
Service Advisor Responsibilities:
· Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
· Writes a detailed description of the customer’s concern on the repair order to help the technician locate the problem.
· Advises customers about necessary service for routine maintenance.
· Confers with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures and prepare work order for needed repairs.
· Prepares a repair order showing time, cost and labor estimates for service.
· Explains the work performed and the repair order charges to the customer.
· Schedules service appointments.
· Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
· Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.
· Obtains customer's signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy.
· Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
· Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed, and additional work and authorization is noted. Closes repair order as appropriate.
· Ensures that vehicles are parked in assigned areas. Makes sure they are locked, and all keys are marked and put away correctly.
· Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
· Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
· Maintains a professional appearance.
· Keeps work area clean.
· Other tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
· Proven experience within the automotive industry
· Knowledge of CDK and DealerLogix
· Recommend knowledge of automotive systems, repairs, and maintenance practices
Required Qualifications:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and team members
· Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
· Proficient computer skills and experience working with automotive service software and systems
· Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
· Problem-solving abilities and the capability to handle customer concerns with empathy and professionalism
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
