Human Resources Analyst
Torrance, CA
Position Description: Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Human Resources (HR) Analyst is responsible for: Payroll administration, HRIS administration and data analytics, providing reports necessary for audits & as requested by management, tech-based HR projects and platforms/applications, and other HR-related tasks. Responsible for cross-training with other HR team members and updating SOPs/desk procedures to ensure smooth business operations.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Compensation and Payroll
- Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ensures payroll deductions; taxes & benefits are accurate and up to date.
- Responsible for providing reports & analysis as needed.
- Coordinates with Sr. Manager on market benchmarking, salary surveys, and compensation analysis every 2 years.
- Handles requests for information & reports from outside parties, including; benefit vendors/broker, garnishments, employment verifications, etc.
- Ensures the integrity and accuracy of data feeds/interface between payroll system and benefits vendors.
- Coordinates with finance team to ensure accuracy of payroll data and reports for financial reporting
- Troubleshoots to resolve issues brought to attention regarding compensation and payroll data
- Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
- Maintain and administer the HRIS system, ensuring data integrity, includes processing all employee changes; i.e. manager changes, title changes, etc.
- Generate reports and analytics to support HR strategy and decision-making.
- Responsible for benefits administration within HRIS and ensures reconciliation & payment of monthly billing statements. Benefits include Health Insurance, EAP, STD, LTD, Life, FSA, supplemental insurance, and 401(k)
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions; specifically responsible for answering any questions related to payroll, timekeeping, and matters related to HRIS within 24 business hours.
- Processes terminations which includes preparing the final paycheck and paperwork
- Cross-trains with other HR team members for other HR functional areas outside of core essential functional areas.
- Develop and update SOPs/desk procedures for respective HR duties and responsibilities.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Training
- BA degree required
- HR Certificate, preferred
- Minimum 5 years HR experience with 3 years of progressive experience in Payroll & Reporting Analysis
Knowledge/Experience
- Have knowledge of general Employment laws and regulations
- Have solid multi-state payroll knowledge and experience with integrated web-based payroll system (i.e., Paylocity, ADP, Paycor)

- HRIS and Payroll administration expertise and knowledge
- Excellent inter-personal skills; team player
- Proficient tech-savvy PC skills especially with MS Office applications and other tech-based applications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Accurate data entry and solid data analysis critical thinking skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Project management skills, a plus
