Position Title: Machine Shop Laborer/Apprentice
Business Unit: Northend Gear & Machine
Location: Fairfield, OH
We are looking for a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Machine Shop Laborer/Apprentice. This is an entry-level position with hands-on training provided. Your primary responsibility will be operating the saw to cut material to specification. When saw work is caught up, you will assist with general shop duties such as cleaning gearboxes, running pre-set machines, and keeping the shop organized.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a machine shop environment and grow your skills over time.
Our ideal candidate will
- Operate the saw to cut materials to size
- Assist in cleaning and prepping gearboxes
- Operate machines that have already been set up
- Perform general labor tasks such as sweeping, organizing, and maintaining shop cleanliness
- Perform all other duties as assigned and required
- Follow all company and common-sense safety policies while using all required personal protective equipment
- Contribute to our team environment by anticipating the needs of co-workers, bringing a positive attitude into our culture, and showing an eagerness to discover and share new opportunities for our organization
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and measuring instruments (e.g., tape measure, calipers)
