PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Responsible for planning and carrying out effective classroom lessons and evaluating student progress toward musical goals. Accountable for creating a positive and productive classroom learning environment. Teaching responsibilities include Grades K - 4th grade music education. Produce a quality music education that will be demonstrated through student performances at concerts and contests. Other duties will include coordination of honor choir. Collaborate with cohorts using the Professional Learning Communities Model.
EDUCATIONAL / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Music certification in Vocal Music K-12; prior successful music teaching experience desired. Strong piano and technology skills necessary. Knowledge of Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) and its integration in music. Knowledge of Positive Behavior Support is a plus. Willingness to collaborate with peers and be familiar with the Professional Learning Communities Model. Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
