NJ/NY Gotham FC (“Gotham FC” or “the Club”) is a National Women’s Soccer League (“NWSL”) team representing New Jersey and New York. The team plays at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ.
The Role
Gotham FC is seeking a Security & Facility Manager who will oversee the security and safety of Gotham FC’s First Team Players, staff, and facilities. This role will include planning, executing, and managing all security-related tasks, from protective detail and surveillance to physical space security at any location we enter. The ideal candidate is a licensed security professional with experience in law enforcement, executive protection, or team security operations.
Key Responsibilities
This position is fully in-person, based at Gotham FC’s soccer operations office and practice facility, located in Whippany, New Jersey. Ability to attend all home games and any mandatory events as well as away games, as necessary. A willingness to travel for other business-related needs, as they arise. Ability to work at the team’s business operations office in Jersey City, New Jersey, as needed. Gotham FC requires its associates to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FC’s offices, practice facility and Red Bull Arena.

Gotham FC is seeking a Security & Facility Manager who will oversee the security and safety of Gotham FC’s First Team Players, staff, and facilities. The ideal candidate is a licensed security professional with experience in law enforcement, executive protection, or team security operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Protection: Provide unarmed protective services to players and staff during any Club related activity. Including but not limited to travel, training sessions, home games, and away matches.
- Counter-Surveillance Operations: Conduct threat vulnerability assessments and lead counter-surveillance activities at away match venues, hotels, and airports.
- Event & Gameday Security: Collaborate with Red Bull Arena event security and manage security around locker rooms, ensuring player safety in all physical spaces.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies and assist medical personnel when necessary. De-escalate situations effectively using non-physical tactics.
- Law Enforcement Collaboration: Establish relationships with local law enforcement, security officers, and other relevant entities to ensure comprehensive team security.
- Operational Security: Inspect and secure team transport vehicles, manage physical security systems (CCTV, radios), and develop a comprehensive physical security plan for team facilities.
- Incident Reporting: Monitor suspicious activities and complete necessary reports to keep leadership informed of safety or security risks.
- Team Travel Support: Ensure secure transit to away matches, working with local authorities when required, and coordinate security efforts at airports, lodging, and events.
- Facility Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of all Gotham FC facilities, including training centers and office spaces.
- Maintenance Oversight: Ensure that all facilities are properly maintained and operational, including field surfaces, equipment, and electrical systems.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors for maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular facility inspections and risk assessments.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the facilities budget, overseeing costs for maintenance, repairs, and facility upgrades.
- Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or executive protection.
- Experience in facility operations, maintenance, or management, preferably in a sports environment.
- Security certification (e.g., CSSP, CPP) preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to travel extensively, working irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Physically capable of performing security and facility-related tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and facility compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
- Experience of working within elite level sport environments; Women’s Soccer is preferred.
- Knowledge of the New York and New Jersey areas is preferred.
- Spanish proficiency is preferred.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
