What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secretary position at NJAC?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but are not limited to):

  • Receptionist duties i.e.. Answering telephone, opening mail and other front desk duties
  • Typing reports and other correspondence
  • Ordering supplies
  • Assist in planning staff and fundraising events
  • Coordinate and process purchase requests.
  • Other duties assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Commitment to Association philosophy
  • Three years’ office experience preferred.
  • A candidate who does not have a bachelor’s degree but in other respects seems exceptionally suitable will be considered if she/he has a combination of three years’ relevant experience and education, with demonstrated administrative management experience.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a currently registered, insured automobile.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule formats.

Computer/TYPING Skills:

Strong computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Office
