NJM is expanding in the Middle Market Commercial Package Marketplace and we are seeking a Multi-Line P&C Middle Market Field Underwriter (this has the flexibility to be filled at Level II or Senior). This is a fully remote position to join our growing team in Maryland.
Job Responsibilities :
- Assignment of a local territory to help develop Commercial Multi-Line new business opportunities along with Auto, Workers Compensation, and Umbrella.
- Responsibility for working with the NJM sales distribution representative and with our agents in the State of Maryland, to develop business in the territory.
- Ensure that new and renewal business fits NJM's strategy and that the underwriting process and procedures are aligned.
- Manage the profitability and growth of an assigned book of business.
- Establish and maintain relationships with producers and customers to understand their needs and sell products that respond to their needs.
- Partner with the Commercial Sales Team in exceeding NJM's business growth, profitability, and retention targets.
- Negotiate renewal terms.
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.
- Assist in mentoring, training, and development of existing underwriting staff.
- Participate in department projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience :
The Salary Range for this role is $95,500- $112,000. Compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials.
