Job Objective
Assist the Production Manager in overseeing production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. Focus on enhancing productivity, minimizing costs, and maintaining high production standards while supporting the overall effectiveness of the manufacturing or production team.
Essential Functions

- Compile and prepare all recipes and batch formulations for production.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of "the dance" – the workflow and coordination required for efficient production.
- Possess medium to high knowledge of Wherefore (including work orders, inventory management, and scenario planning).
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct and oversee daily calibrations of thermometers and pH meters to ensure accuracy.
- Complete and maintain GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) forms and documentation.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, as required.
- Assist with the scheduling of production activities, allocating resources, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Monitor day-to-day production to maintain smooth workflow and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and address any defects or inefficiencies.
- Assist in training, supervising, and supporting the production team.
- Keep track of raw materials, coordinating with suppliers, and minimizing waste.
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Analyze production data, prepare reports and troubleshoot operational issues.
Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, FDA/USDA regulations) and production equipment.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in supervising teams and coordinating workflow.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot production issues effectively.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage production staff.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Production Management, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 2 years of experience in food production, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
Special Position Requirements
- Knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and FDA/USDA regulations.
- Familiarity with production equipment and operational procedures.
Preferences
- Certifications in HACCP, ServSafe, or food production safety.
- Knowledge of ERP or production management software.
- Punctual and reliable, ensuring consistent attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and effectively communicate directions.
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Work Requirements
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, up to 5 hours.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Capable of safely lifting and moving bags, cases, and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds, up to 30 times per shift.
