POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Childcare Director and in accordance with the association and policies of the Northern Lights YMCA, the Before / After-School Program Coordinator will be responsible for the health, welfare, and happiness of all youth participants in his/her care. The After-School Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily supervision of before and after-school program participants grades K-5. This leadership position is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of program activities in the before / after school programs at the Wells Childcare Center and the Gladstone Site located at Cameron School.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Carry a role model image and exude confidence in all young people

4. Communicate effectively verbally, electronically and written (basic business writing)
5. Engage young people in activities that build character and educational preparedness
6. Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access)
7. Utilize efficient time-management
8. Develops curriculum which is age appropriate for participants.
9. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
10. Supervisor a team of employees.
11. Lead summer program for school aged children during summer months.
12.Conduct billing for the before / after school program.
13. Assist childcare director and fill in when needed.
14. Other Duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
2. High School Diploma and some college preferred.
Must become certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
Educational / experience requirements range from a high school diploma with 6 semester hours in child related field plus hours of experience with school age children to a bachelor’s degree in a child-related field.
5. Must be capable of implementing the daily administrative, program related, and supervisory responsibilities of an after-school program.
6. Passion for working with school-age children in a variety of programs.
7. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
8. Good organizational and communication skills
9. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Must have excellent communication skills
2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
3. Ability to visually inspect building condition, review promotional literature & materials, computer monitors, etc.
4. Must have ability to perceive audio & visual alerts for emergency purposes.
5. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
6. Must be able to access all areas of building & grounds including closets, stairwells, locker rooms, wellness center, fields, hiking trails, etc.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
