Position Summary
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will be responsible for administering the overall HR function at the manufacturing plant, including but not limited to full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, and HR administrative duties. The HR Generalist will play a key role in recruitment to ensure staffing levels are sufficient in all departments, support the implementation of HR policies, programs and initiatives, and will provide payroll coverage as required.
Job Duties
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for HR-related matters.
- Answer payroll and benefits inquiries and escalate them as needed.
- Work closely with department leaders to address and resolve employee issues.
- Assist and lead employee investigations as required.
Recruitment & Selection
Oversee high volume full-cycle recruitment at the manufacturing plant and work collaboratively with hiring managers to identify top talent and ensure sufficient staffing levels in all departments.Provide recruitment support for other NMF locations as assigned.Participate in local hiring fairs and community engagements to build and promote employer brand.Plan, organize and execute on-site hiring fairs to support recruitment needs.Assist HR Manager to develop and execute recruitment strategy and processes.Partner with staffing agencies to bring temporary workers to support operational needs.Create and maintain job descriptions and work with management to identify job requirements.HR Administration
Provide payroll coverage including processing of payroll and managing employee timecards when required.Draft employee letters including but not limited to employment offer letters, employment verification letters, promotion letter and position change letters.Manage weekly new hire onboarding process. This includes but is not limited to coordinating and facilitating new hire orientations and training, conducting new hire check-ins, and working with IT and internal teams on equipment and workstation set up.Manage off boarding process including exit notifications to payroll and IT.Maintain accurate employee records, HR reports and trackers as assigned.Provide payroll coverage including payroll processing as assigned.Manage all administrative aspects of leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.Provide management and employee training to enhance employee skills and ensure compliance with company programs.Employee Engagement
Contribute and communicate updates at Company Town Halls and Leadership meetings.Conduct new hire 30-60-90-day HR engagement check-ins.Assist with implementation of employee surveys.Assist in the development and execution of employee engagement programs and activities at the plant.Performance Management
Support performance management programs and initiatives including training and coaching managers on probationary and performance reviews and disciplinary process.Other Duties as Assigned
Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations.Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management.Follow all Food Safety, HACCP, Quality and Operational procedures (SOPs) as defined in NMF’s Quality Management SystemPerform other duties as assigned to support the HR department and the organization’s goals.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.3 years of relevant experience in HR and / or payroll.Previous experience working with an HRIS and payroll system (ADP or equivalent) required.Previous experience working in food manufacturing, distribution or relevant industry.Knowledge of Food Safety, GMP and HACCP standards are an asset.Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office suite required (MS Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook).Strong ability to exercise discretion, sound judgement and solve problems independently.Ability to interpret and communicate complex policies and procedures to all levels of the organization.Solid organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.Leadership capability and ability to influence and motivate teams.Customer-centric approach to ensure high levels of service and satisfaction.High attention to detail, meticulous, and able to maintain a high level of quality.Adaptable, resourceful, and willing to learn.Working Conditions
This position will be required to work from 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm on Mondays and Fridays and from 10 : 00 am to 6 : 30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.Work hours and schedules may be changed at the discretion of the manager and to support operational needs.Will work a combination of on-the-floor (20%) and in-office work setting (80%).May be required to work in the production, warehouse and maintenance areas from time-to-time (5%) and will be exposed to a noisy and wet environment with varying temperatures.Allergens present – e.g. soy, wheat, etc.Required to wear PPE such as safety boots, hair nets, lab coats and more when working inside the manufacturing plant.No jewelry allowed on the production floor and other areas of the manufacturing plant.No Meat Factory Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Compensation range for this position in Stanwood, Washington : $65,000 to $80,000 annually. The compensation depends on qualifications and experience. This position is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued paid time off plan annually, personal medical and parental leave, paid holidays, and family care benefits.
