Introduction
We are currently hiring a Plant Manager for our client based in Stanwood, WA. The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the plant's daily operations and ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will lead investigations into new technologies that will support the operational requirements to reduce labour, improve yields etc. The Plant Manager will also be responsible for controlling all associated operational costs according to the prevailing annual budget forecast and investigating opportunities to reduce costs - packaging, process improvement, design modifications, and automation.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the plant, as well as develop and implement strategies for long-term success
- Responsible for managing the production process, including overseeing staff, scheduling shifts, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring quality control
- Develop and implement safety protocols, coordinate maintenance activities, and develop strategies to improve efficiency
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers
- Ensure that production goals are met in a timely manner while adhering to safety regulations and company policies
- Mentor performance metrics and make necessary adjustments as needed
- Ensure proactive preventive maintenance plans are developed and Root Cause Analysis for major downtime events conducted
- Ensure all administration requirements are met in a timely manner
- Negotiate, as directed and within establishes policy, with employees and union organisers on day-to -day industrial matters
