Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals navigating mental health or substance use challenges.
- Utilize personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivate clients toward their recovery goals.
- Facilitate group sessions that promote peer support and shared experiences.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies and life skills through mentoring.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to create individualized recovery plans.
- Conduct crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Educate clients about available resources and services within the community.
- Advocate for clients' needs within various systems, including healthcare and social services.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress in compliance with organizational policies.
Requirements
- The position has a requirement of a shared experience. A shared experience is defined as personally utilizing privately or publicly funded behavioral health services, to include substance abuse treatment.
- Completion of Peer Support Training and Peer Support Certification.
- Posses a high school diploma or a high school equivalent diploma.
- Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or ability to obtain an Arizona fingerprint clearance card.
- A current Arizona Driver License and a current satisfactory 39-month Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Must be 21 years of age
- NegativeTuberculosis Test
- Background Check
- Minimum 1 year recovery from drugs and/or alcohol or mental health.
- CPR and first aid certification
