GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Marketing and Development Coordinator will be charged with the overall marketing of the agency, securing the brand, and promoting the mission and vision. The development portion of this position is responsible for the oversight of our donor relations program and management of our fundraising initiatives.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Work with management to implement development and marketing initiatives that support the vision and focus of the strategic plan.
2.Oversight of the agency website and management of the social digital media., as well as crafting print marketing collateral to promote services and community involvement with a strong focus on collaborative partnerships and fundraising.
3.Oversee development, management and production of an annual report, fundraising appeals, direct mail campaigns, agency brochures and promotional collateral along with day-to-day- daily exposure tasks.
4.Develops fundraising campaigns, managing individual and corporate gifts as well as planned and annual giving campaigns, communicating with current and prospective donors, and building a stronger development team for our organization with the support of the board of directors.
5.Donor cultivation and building strong and successful relationships, maintaining communications with donors and patrons, and collaborating with staff to effectively execute fundraising events.
6.Cultivate an awareness of our agency within the community by attending networking events and creating contacts within the community.
7.Conduct prospect research for potential grant and major gifts funding opportunities.
8.Coordinate the yearly gala fundraising event and collaborate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions.
9.Donor management within the donor software system and record gift entry and acknowledgments, generate reports on donor giving and activity, conduct mail merges, oversee preparation and sending of donor correspondence.
10.Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be requested by the Executive Director and the Board Development Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in marketing and development with a concentration working for a social service nonprofit organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, donor management software and other web-based platforms. Grant writing skills to seek additional sources of funding for agency services. Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience to effectively promote the mission and message of the agency in all facets of advertising and outreach and build donor relationships. Event experience a plus to help with management and execution of events planned throughout the year to raise awareness and funding for agency services. Ability to multi-task a variety of duties daily and keep track of multiple on-going projects. A strong attention to detail and creativity skills for pulling together plans to promote not only the agency but all its services.
