HISTORY
Our business has come a long way since its 1965 inception as EF Industries, which was a diversified industrial business based outside Boulder, Colorado. Back then, we focused primarily on underwater explosive forming, a process used to shape blank sheets of metal alloys into complex three-dimensional parts for aerospace equipment manufacturers. The late 1960s also was an exciting time for the nascent explosion welding industry, and we were committed to mastering the process and applying it to a range of innovative industrial applications.
In 1976, we changed our name to Explosive Fabricators and became a publicly traded company under the ticker symbol “BOOM.”
