What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Specialist I position at Noble Credit Union?
Summary: Responsible for collection efforts on delinquent loans and negative share accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contact members by telephone, email, or letter to determine reason for delinquency and to educate members on proper payment process. Negotiate and establish repayment process within defined guidelines.
Maintain documentation in the collection system on defaulted accounts and the collection process. Update the core system with new address or phone numbers as required.
Recommend loss mitigation solutions as defined by collection procedure/policy to department management.
Assist credit union staff with collection related questions and inquiries.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum one year collection experience; or equivalent combination of education, experience or training. Financial institution experience preferred.
