The Production Associate Level 1 at Noble Gas Systems plays a key role in supporting manufacturing engineering processes and contributing to the mechanical aspects of production. This position involves hands-on work with machinery, troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing quality control, and ensuring efficient production operations. The role requires proficiency across multiple departments, including winding, braiding, assembly, and final prep, while also focusing on mechanical problem-solving, process improvement, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This position is ideal for individuals with an interest in both manufacturing operations and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machinery Operation & Mechanical Support: Operate and maintain production equipment, ensuring that all machinery functions optimally. Perform routine mechanical checks, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on machinery to prevent downtime.
- Manufacturing Engineering Support: Collaborate with the engineering team to understand and apply best practices for process improvement, equipment optimization, and troubleshooting of mechanical issues. Assist in the setup, running, and changeover of machinery to meet production goals.
- Quality Control & Mechanical Inspection: Inspect and test parts to ensure they meet company quality standards, with a focus on mechanical integrity and function. Document and report any defects or mechanical issues during the manufacturing process.
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve mechanical issues, utilizing problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Work with engineering to implement root cause analysis and process improvements.
- Production Support: Assist in the setup, running, and changeover of equipment. Follow standard operating procedures and production schedules to meet output goals while ensuring mechanical efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and standards, ensuring safe operation of all mechanical equipment. Participate in safety training, and immediately report any hazards or safety issues.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records related to production data, downtime, and mechanical issues. Utilize Quickbase and other systems to document mechanical adjustments, maintenance, and repairs performed.
- Team Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with the engineering team, production staff, and other departments to ensure smooth workflows and identify areas for improvement in machinery and processes. Contribute to the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations, offering mechanical insights and suggestions for better efficiency.
- Mechanical Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training opportunities to enhance mechanical and engineering knowledge. Develop skills related to machine operation, troubleshooting, and mechanical repair.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in manufacturing engineering, mechanical systems, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering environment. Experience with machinery or equipment maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficient in operating production machinery and understanding mechanical systems.
- Strong attention to detail, with an emphasis on mechanical integrity and function.
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic mechanical repairs on production equipment.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing engineering principles, such as process flow, machine optimization, and mechanical design.
- Strong mathematical skills for measuring and recording mechanical data.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with both production and engineering teams.
- Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working in a production environment for extended periods.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and using hand tools for mechanical maintenance.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures is common in the production environment.
