Job Summary
The Dietary Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the dietary department within a healthcare facility, ensuring that all nutritional needs of patients are met in accordance with their care plans. Duties
- Supervise daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring high standards of food service and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations to determine dietary needs and preferences of patients.
- Manage budgeting for the dietary department, including food procurement and inventory management.
- Provide health coaching to patients, educating them on nutrition and healthy eating habits.
- Maintain knowledge of physiology and dietetics to inform dietary recommendations.
- Lead training sessions for dietary staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in food service practices.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding food service operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supervising a dietary department within a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of budgeting processes related to food service management.
- Knowledge of physiology, dietetics, and nutritional science.
- Experience in patient assessment and developing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Familiarity with health coaching principles is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- MUST BE SERVE SAFE MANAGER CERITFIED
