Job Title: Field Laborer – Metal Structures & Install Crew
Location: Noble Steel – Chico, CA & various job sites
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Install Foreman / General Foreman
Job Summary
We’re hiring a dependable and motivated Field Laborer to join our install crew for metal buildings, structural steel installs, and metal roofing projects. This is an on-site, hands-on role where you’ll work with a team to erect and install high-quality steel systems. Applicants with welding experience or equipment skills (boom lifts, forklifts, etc.) are eligible for bonus pay and advancement opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of structural steel, roofing panels, and pre-fabricated metal buildings.
- Unload and stage materials safely and efficiently on job sites.
- Operate basic hand and power tools (grinders, impacts, drills, etc.).
- Support lead installers with measuring, aligning, and securing components.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site by following company safety procedures.
- Assist with rigging and guiding steel members into place.
- Travel to various sites across Northern California.
Bonus Opportunities
Additional pay is offered for the following skills:
- Welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick): $2–$5/hr based on proficiency
- Certified Forklift or Boom Lift Operation
- Torch or Plasma Cutting Experience
- Sheet Metal Installation
These skill bonuses are evaluated during onboarding and reviewed quarterly for performance-based increases.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work at heights.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites or the shop.
Preferred but Not Required
- Welding certification or relevant experience.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Experience in construction or steel erection.
- Forklift/Boom lift operation card.
