Front of House staff - server/bartender/food runner
Downtown Salem, Oregon
Full-Time and/or Part-Time
Purpose
Noble Wave is hiring for our Louisiana restaurant in downtown Salem. We are looking for candidates willing to work part-time and full-time, days, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Overall position
Noble Wave is now operating as a full table service restaurant. We are looking for candidates with experience working in a full table service-model and who are willing to be cross-trained and work all FOH positions (including bartender, server, food runner, and barback). Experience and willingness to also be cross-trained for BOH responsibilities (including prep cook, line cook, and dishwasher) is a plus. Noble Wave uses a tip share model where all tips are shared across the entire FOH and BOH teams.

Day-to-Day responsibilities
- Provide excellent service to all customers
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Be knowledgeable of and perform and maintain cleaning responsibilities according to all current OHA and related guidelines
- Responsibly serve alcohol
- Properly handle cash and credit card transactions
- Comply with all food/alcohol handling and food/alcohol safety standards
- Take customer orders via mobile POS at tables
- Enthusiastically communicate with guests about all items we serve and be able to make recommendations based on customers’ preferences
- Accommodate special guest requests, as necessary
- Direct customers to clean tables
- Keep dining area clean including running dirty dishes to kitchen dish pit and wiping down tables
- Assist with washing dishes as necessary
- Run food to tables
- Follow recipes and prepare drinks to meet all company standards
- Communicate with team to ensure drinks are coming out at the right times
- Communicate with team to ensure customer orders are coming out at the right times
- Wash glassware
- Show up on time
- Be clean, presentable, ready to work
- Complete any necessary pre-shift work
- Work safely, cleanly, and efficiently
- Complete any closing tasks for your shift
- Willingness to be cross-trained in other areas of the brewpub
- Other responsibilities as required
- Follow all company policies and procedures
Desired skills and experience
- Customer service experience
- Food service experience
- 1 years’ serving experience in a high volume restaurant preferred
- Ability to assess needs and prioritize accordingly
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, food allergies and other dietary restrictions
- Knowledge of cocktail, wine, and beer preparation techniques
- Passionate about staying up-to-date on the latest beer, wine, and cocktail trends
- Valid food handlers card and alcohol serving permit or ability to get each
- ServSafe certification is a plus
Physical and mental requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to read and follow written English instructions
- Ability to safely navigate small spaces and crowded areas
- Ability to routinely twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, and crawl
- Ability to move supplies and equipment using appropriate techniques, tools, and/or assistance
- Ability to wear a face covering, mask, or face shield and willingness to follow all current OHA and other guidelines related to COVID-19
