NOBULL is currently seeking a Materials Designer for product to join their growing design team. This individual will be responsible for helping create unique and proprietary material concepts and stories that represent the DNA of the NOBULL brand. A portfolio is required during the application for this role.
\n- Develop and articulate a cohesive materials strategy that aligns with the brand’s design language, innovation goals, and market positioning.
- Ensure consistency in material application across different product lines while allowing for unique expressions that fit each franchise’s identity and performance requirements.
- Research and experiment with innovative materials, exploring new compositions, finishes, and applications tailored to different product needs.
- Analyze consumer preferences and emerging market trends to ensure material choices resonate with target audiences.
- Translate trend insights into actionable material solutions that enhance product desirability and differentiation, and functionality.
- Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams, educating them on material properties, applications, and benefits.
- Collaborate with suppliers and production team to ensure material feasibility, quality, and scalability.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, material design, footwear design, or equivalent experience
- 4 years of experience in materials, industrial design, or footwear, preferably in athletic or activewear
- Strong portfolio showcasing material and finish design work
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Deep understanding of footwear, apparel, and accessories manufacturing and construction methods
- Positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to inspire and collaborate
- Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful
- Thrives in dynamic, high-energy environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
