Position: Outside Sales Representative
Location: WNY and Rochester
Compensation: $48,000-$62,000 plus commission

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing new business opportunities within the assigned territory. They will leverage their expertise in generator solutions to build strong relationships with potential clients and drive revenue growth.

What You Will Do
  • Conduct market research to identify potential customers and industries that could benefit from our generator solutions.
  • Utilize various lead generation techniques such as cold calling, networking, and attending industry events to establish a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a database of leads and prospects for ongoing follow-up.
  • Engage with prospects to understand their power needs and challenges, and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and site evaluations to determine the most suitable generator solution for each customer.
  • Develop customized proposals and quotations based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Utilizing visual aids such as photos, diagrams, and technical drawings to develop proposals and project plans.
  • Present product demonstrations and explain the features, benefits, and value proposition of our generator offerings.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at prospect organizations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering ongoing support and guidance throughout the sales process.
  • Build rapport and credibility through effective communication and responsiveness to customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and objectives within your assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as sales support and operations to ensure seamless execution of sales transactions.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of sale in accordance with company policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status using CRM software.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to management on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Forecast sales projections and setting realistic targets for future periods based on market analysis and insights.
  • Stay updated on advancements in technologies relevant to generators.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in outside sales, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in selling generator solutions or related products.
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of power generation systems, including generators, transfer switches, and associated equipment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude and a passion for exceeding sales targets and objectives.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory as required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
