Animal Protection & Control Dispatcher – Be the Voice for Animals in Need!
Location: Loveland, CO
Full-Time | Hourly | Non-Exempt
Expected hiring range is $17.50 to $18.50 commensurate with applicable experience. Closes February 28th, 2025 or when filled.
What You’ll Do:
Answer & Respond to Calls: Be the first point of contact for citizens reporting lost, stray, or injured animals, animal-related public safety concerns, and ordinance violations.
Dispatch & Support Officers: Assign and dispatch calls to Animal Protection Officers, track their locations, and ensure their safety in the field.
Educate & Assist the Public: Help citizens understand local animal ordinances, responsible pet ownership, and department procedures.
Keep Records & Reports: Maintain detailed logs, reports, and statistics of daily activities.
Support Animal Shelter Operations: Assist with impounding and kenneling domestic animals (cats, dogs, rabbits, turtles, chickens, and more!) and applicable wildlife.
What We’re Looking For:
- 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication skills; dispatch or customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
- Comfort handling animals of all temperaments, including injured or ill.
- Ability to type 40 WPM while using a radio headset.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus and includes a wage premium.
Schedule: Varies. Can be 4x10 or 5x8 depending on business need. Shifts start as early as 730AM and end as late as 8PM. A weekend shift is a requirement.
