CLS Architect
Description
The resource should have skills in architecture and design. Their focus will not necessarily be hands-on implementation of Sentinel policies or SCPs. However, the resource should understand how these policies work. Additionally, the resources need to understand the interactions and dependencies of the different Information Security teams, specifically IAM and Network Security, as well as Data Protection. Knowledge and understanding of Kubernetes environments are a must. Technical writing skills are valuable as well, including design and pattern experience. The resources will be writing architectural decision records and contributing to other architectural documentation.
These resources will need to understand security principles. In the case of services, for example, the resource does not need to have in-depth knowledge of the latest cloud services. However, they do need to be able to evaluate a service and determine what the security posture needs to be.
In essence, these resources will be the front door to the Cloud Security Architecture team and will support this team in their initiatives.
Day-to-Day Work Effort
- 50% writing architecture decision records (ADRs) and other architecture docs
- 25% engineering/architecture meetings
- 25% BAU (emails, slacks, other communication, etc)

Job Description:
The Cloud Architect will support the Cloud Security Architecture team by contributing to the design and documentation of secure cloud solutions across enterprise environments. While not focused on hands-on implementation of Sentinel policies or Service Control Policies (SCPs), this role requires a strong understanding of how these policies function, along with broad knowledge of cloud security principles and architectural best practices.
This position serves as a strategic front door to the Cloud Security Architecture team, helping define the security posture for new services, contributing to architectural documentation, and collaborating closely with teams across IAM, Network Security, and Data Protection. Experience with Kubernetes environments and architectural decision records (ADRs) is essential.
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of cloud architecture and design principles
Familiarity with Sentinel policies, SCPs, and their role in cloud governance
Experience working with or across IAM, Network Security, and Data Protection teams
Proficiency with Kubernetes environments
Strong technical writing skills, including architectural documentation and design patterns
Ability to evaluate cloud services and determine necessary security controls
