Job Purpose:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the nurse practitioner or physician assistant with patient care, administrative duties, lab work-urine dips, and maintaining patient records. They are able to multi-task and is capable of managing his or her workload efficiently. You should be caring, empathetic, and able to function well under pressure.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Preparing patients for examinations or treatments
• Taking and recording patients’ medical histories, vital signs, or information such as test results in medical records
• Assisting nurse practitioner or physician assistant during physical examinations
• Collecting samples for laboratory tests
• Performing basic laboratory tests and preparing specimens for laboratory testing
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in examination rooms
• Ordering and maintaining medical supplies and equipment
Qualifications:
• Work experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role. Minimum of 3 years as a MA.
• Knowledge of healthcare procedures and medical terminology.
• Experience with clinical and administrative tasks.
• Proficiency in using medical software and equipment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• High school diploma; certification in medical assistance
