Job Description
The Customer Technical PM (TPM) is responsible to support delivery team services for testing, implementation, and deployment of Core products in TMO network (ensures customer projects / programs are delivered within agreed scope, budget, schedule, and quality). The program contains projects throughout all phases, starting from delivery approach identification to completion / care / operation. The TPM will serve as a key program technical leader and support the delivery team by :
Performing significant end to end project planning and risk/opportunity management
Ensuring that project delivery team has comprehensive understanding of technical deliverables
Identifying gaps in delivery team knowledge base or in solution definition and driving to close those gaps
Driving resolution of technical and logistical issues
Ensuring that technical aspects of contract are fulfilled
Managing stakeholder relationships (both internal & external)
What you will learn and contribute to
Technical Project Manager (TPM) is responsible to support delivery team services for testing, implementation, and deployment of NPC/PCRF (Policy Control) function in TMO network. Including but not limited to:
Perform advance planning for new projects/technologies as starting point for project team and assigned project manager.
Working with other project PMs to align overall team efforts and predict & remove roadblocks to achieve project goals.
Guide project engineers (both internal and external) on tasks to achieve project goals. Support of Maintenance Window activities as needed.
Monitors, reports and optimizes services delivery in alignment with relevant processes and tools. Identifies skill/knowledge gaps withing team.
Provide support for activities that interact with external elements (PLF, PGW, LDAP, SMF).
Working with project manager to monitor project execution performance and product operational KPIs.
Serve as critical reviewer/contributor for Solutions/Requirements/Networking Design/MOP/ATP documentation
Be a customer advocate and work with the development team to design and implement the features and functionality required by the customer
Primary owner for the documentation of the system specifications and configuration for customer labs and production sites.
Ensures proper communication to relevant stakeholders (both internal and external/customer) at all levels from engineer to executive level as required (including but not limited to):
Responding to technical requests, reporting on emergency cases, outages, and project delivery issues. Driving the root cause analysis process.
Preparation and communication of project plans for customer presentation. Often this will be a joint effort with assigned project PM.
Interfaces with key stakeholders at business area leadership. providing sufficient operational visibility to stakeholders (EG Project Management, PMO, customer).
Provide inputs to solutions description & other technical documentation and be a primary point of contact to the pre-sales team on feature estimation and sizing
Offers recommendations and assists in streamlining processes and tools for efficiency in delivery operations.
Analyzes, develops and implements concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert.
Responsible for analysis, design & development of policies, plans, programs
Scripting tools to improve delivery process
Follows Nokia project management methodology and applicable Business Group guidelines and processes.
Your skills and experience
Bachelor of Science Engineering/Computer Science
10 years of experience working in telecom network development/delivery role
3 years of experience specifically working with Policy Control products (PCRF/NPC)
Expert knowledge of networking and network protocols.
Experience with 4G/5G Core network functions.
Knowledge of cloud and containerized applications and familiarity with Linux, orchestration, and dev/ops (Docker/Kubernetes, etc.).
Ability to support troubleshooting and lead issue resolution on E2E network elements.
Ability to develop project plans and execute delivery projects.
Ability to develop scripts using various SW (Java, etc.)
Competence with MS products: Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Visio, etc.
Experience working with various ticketing systems for tracking bugs and work products (JIRA/PRONTO/Etc.)
Ability to communicate from engineer to executive level both within Nokia and to customer.
PMP certification desired.
