Summary of Duties
Promote census growth in the Community through coordination and development of personal sales by establishing and maintaining leads and sales. Coordinate the evaluation of prospective residents for admission to the Community.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with Administrator to create a Community-specific marketing plan.
- Market service and make sales calls, in person and telephonically, to referral sources and prospective residents, and family members.
- Meet with Administrator regularly to discuss sales objectives status, as well as current and future strategy implementation.
- Develop and submit to Administrator for approval a plan of organization for the marketing department. Recommend changes when necessary.
- Initiate, organize, plan and direct the Community sales/marketing function. Responsible for achieving sales/marketing objectives and implementing policies and procedures in order to ensure objectives.
- Monitor sales/marketing performance against established goals and recommends future plans and programs, and/or changes in it to Administrator.
- Monitor completion of all sales/marketing tracking systems and reports required by Administrator and Home Office.
- Interpret the Community’s policies and procedures to prospective residents and family members, and visitors, as necessary.
- Develop all Community employees as representatives of the Community, reinforcing their role in sales/marketing function and ambassadors of the Community.
- Work with Home Office on all marketing collateral material development and media advertising.
- Coordinate public relations activities with Home Office, including media contact, feature story opportunities with media, and major event planning.
- Provide accurate information regarding the Community’s products and services to customers.
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a satisfactory and timely manner.
- Schedule referrals for admission evaluation and discusses potential for admission with staff as appropriate. Coordinate potential admissions with appropriate staff and serve as liaison to referral sources.
- Schedule and provide tours of the Community with prospective residents and their families.
- Explain to the potential/new resident, and/or sponsor/designated family member, room rates, billing procedures, visitor/guest privileges, restrictions, and resident care procedures as appropriate.
- Coordinate resident move-ins and move-outs with all departments, with documentation as required.
- Maintain an accurate record of available beds/units/apartments.
- Maintain a resident/client waiting list.
- Maintain and distribute as required, daily and monthly census reports for Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Specialty Care Assisted Living (if applicable).
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor, including any special projects.
Education and Experience
Bachelors in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or closely related field preferred. Equivalent in professional accreditation and/or career experience may be considered. Masters preferred. Two (2) years’ experience in sales in a health care environment, preferably in senior living, required.
Physical Requirements for Essential Job Functions
- Must be able to move about intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the work day.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
- Must be able to transport and set up sales/presentation/display material weighing 20-30 pounds.
